Poke Theory

About the project
Poke Theory, our team at Paz studio wanted to redefine the fast-casual dining experience by blending a sharp, modern edge with soulful tropical warmth. We envisioned a space that feels as fresh and vibrant as the ingredients served, moving away from clinical industrialism toward a more tactile, “tropical-modern” aesthetic.
Our design story for this project is anchored in the balance of raw materials and playful artisanal details. We paired sleek, black-framed steel windows and polished concrete floors with a carefully curated layer of natural textures. From the intricate rope-woven ceiling installations to the custom rattan-wrapped dining tables and chairs, every element was chosen to create a sense of organic movement. For us, the highlight is the way we integrated bold, custom-painted murals with warm ambient lighting, transforming the cafe into an immersive environment that invites diners to slow down and stay a while.
