At PAZ Studio Bali, we create architecture and interiors that respond to climate, culture, and the aspirations of those who inhabit them — shaping spaces that are both inspiring and deeply functional.

Pulau Apartment

About the project

At Paz Studio, we envision the Pulau Apartment as a tactile journey where the raw honesty of industrialism meets the quiet soul of minimalist living. We embraced the monolithic presence of hand-finished concrete, allowing its cool, mottled textures to serve as a backdrop for a life stripped of excess. The architecture is defined by a series of deliberate contrasts, where the heavy weight of stone is challenged by “floating” elements like the cantilevered staircase and the airy, open flow toward the private tropical courtyard.

The interior experience is a study in sensory balance, pairing the brutalist strength of the walls with the organic warmth of the earth. We integrated honey-toned timber and woven rattan to soften the industrial edge, creating a space that feels both grounded and ethereal. As the sloped roofline guides the eye upward, integrated lighting casts a golden glow over the concrete, transforming a modern structure into a protective cocoon that breathes alongside the lush greenery of the plunge pool.

Every corner reflects a commitment to functional purity, from the matte black utility of the kitchen to the reflective white tiles that brighten the bath. We chose materials that age gracefully, ensuring that the apartment remains a timeless sanctuary. For Paz Studio, this project is a celebration of the essential, a place where the architecture recedes to allow the play of light, water, and shadow to become the true inhabitants of the home.
