Kano Hotel as a definitive exploration of Contemporary & Industrial design, where the raw, monochromatic power of cement meets the intricate warmth of handmade craftsmanship. We celebrated the unyielding texture of polished concrete walls, allowing them to serve as a brutalist canvas for a series of tactile, organic interventions. The architecture is a study in balance—grounding the cool, grey expanse with rich tropical timbers, hand-woven rope installations, and sculptural wood elements that invite a sense of human touch into the modern void.

The interior narrative is defined by a curated tension between sharp geometries and artisanal softness. In the guest sanctuaries, we paired low-slung wooden platform beds with bold, graphic art and glass-encased pendant lights that cast a focused, amber glow against the cement. Every piece of furniture, from the fluted wooden side tables to the classic rattan-backed lounge chairs, was chosen to provide a warm, rhythmic contrast to the industrial shell. This dialogue continues into the open-air communal spaces, where towering clay amphorae and rhythmic rope screens create a porous boundary between the structured hotel and the untamed tropical environment.

Functionality is elevated to an art form at Kano Hotel, ensuring that minimalist aesthetics never compromise comfort. From the sleek, matte black open-wardrobe systems to the integrated concrete vanities topped with ceramic vessel sinks, every detail is a Paz Studio commitment to purposeful living. We used natural light as a primary material, allowing it to highlight the varied patinas of the stone and wood throughout the day. The result is a sanctuary that feels both grounded and ethereal—a space where the modern traveler can find peace in the honesty of materials and the quiet beauty of a perfectly balanced room.
