Villa Saki

About the project
At Paz Studio, we envisioned Villa Saki as a soulful intersection where the nostalgic charm of Retro design meets the clean, disciplined lines of the Contemporary era. The architecture is defined by a series of soft arches and recessed niches that create a sense of discovery, allowing light to pool in unexpected corners of the cream-toned plaster walls. We grounded the space with a sunken living area—a deliberate nod to mid-century social rituals—framed by integrated amber lighting that transforms the cool concrete floors into a warm, inviting hearth.
The narrative of the villa is told through a curated collection of materials that celebrate both history and craftsmanship. We paired the dark, rich grains of walnut timber with tactile rattan accents and supple leather upholstery to create a layered, sensory experience. In the kitchen, sculptural, hand-tiled counters with dramatic curves serve as a functional centerpiece, while vintage-inspired posters and a classic record player setup invite a slower, more intentional pace of life. It is a space where every object, from the low-slung lounge chairs to the arched steel-framed windows, feels like a deliberate piece of a larger artistic puzzle.
Our design philosophy for Villa Saki was to create a sanctuary that feels both timeless and deeply personal. We integrated lush indoor greenery and tall, weathered clay amphorae to bridge the gap between the structured interior and the wild, tropical beauty visible through the glass. Whether you are resting in the bedroom under the soft glow of pleated pendants or sharing a drink at the arched bar, the villa stands as a Paz Studio testament to the beauty of a life lived at the crossroads of different eras.
